II. Studying Period:2-3 years for master’s program and 4 years for Doctoralprogram. Students who choose classes taught in Chinese should haveone year Chinese studying (up to 1 year).

For Master’s: RMB3,000/Month
For Doctoral candidate: RMB3,500/Month
4. Provide RMB 800comprehensive medical insurance
PS: Students need to buythird-party liability insurance for RMB 100/semester or RMB 200/yearthemselves.
IV. Qualifications forScholarship Application
1. Non-Chinese Nationalityand in good health
2. Degree and AgeRequirements:
Applicants for Master Degreestudies must have a Bachelor’s Degree and under the age of 35;
Applicants for DoctoralDegree studies must have a Master’s Degree and under the age of 40.
3. Have good grades andoutstanding scientific research ability
4. Applicants must notaccept other scholarships
5. Applicants applyChinese taught programs require HSK Level4 180 or above (certificateis valid for 2 years)
6. Applicants applyEnglish taught programs require IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 80 or otherproof of their English proficiency, native English speakers do notrequire certificate of English proficiency.
V. Majors.
Please check the attachment 1below for more information of majors. The major can be appliedwill be subjected to the approved ones by China Scholarship Council,and all programs can accept application of general or advancedvisitors.
VI. Application documents:
1. Application Form forChinese Government Scholarship (in English or in Chinese).
2. Foreigner’sPhysical Examination Form and blood test report in English. Originalforms must be presented when you come to register. The medicalexaminations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner’sPhysical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without thesignature of the attending physician, official stamp of the hospitalor a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. In view of thefact that the inspection result is valid for 6 months, the applicantshall determine the time for the medical examination.
3. Notarized versionof diploma and degree (Bachelor’s and above, documents inlanguages other than Chinese or English must be attached withnotarized translations)Senior students should provide certificatewhich can show their expected date of graduation. Originalcertificate must be presented when you come to register.
4. Notarized version ofapplicant’s transcripts (Documents in languages other thanChinese or English must be attached with notarized translations).
5. Two recommendationletters in Chinese or English by different professors orassociate professors.
6. Copy or copies of anyaward or research can be presented to show your personal talents orachievements.
7. Non-criminal recordreport. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate ofNon-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority,usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of theapplication. If the applicant is unable to provide thisdocument, as a substitute, the applicant could sign a non-criminalrecord commitment (Attachment 3).
8. Certificate ofEnglish or Chinese proficiency.
9. Copies of applicant’svalid passport, applicants in China also need to provide a copy ofthe current valid visa page or residence permit page.
Materials above(Originalone) should be scanned and uploaded to the system.University will ask the applicant to submit supplementarymaterials if necessary，Unclear orincomplete materials are not accepted.

2. Fill incorrect email address and check youremail frequently, Lanzhou University will contact you throughemail for future interviews
VIII. Admission
1. Admission steps:Preliminary review by School of International Cultural Exchange - related college review and interview - university pre-admission- China Scholarship Council final review - final admission. Accordingto the application materials, we will adopt merit-based enrollment.The final result of admission will be announced on about July 15(subject to notification from the China Scholarship Council).
2. The enrollment timeis usually around the beginning of September. The specifictime will be based on the Admission Notice. Students whohave been admitted should strictly follow the requirements of China’sepidemic prevention policy, and come to the studentaffairs’ office of School of International Cultural Exchange,Lanzhou University to register on time, those who fail to registerduring the specified enrollment time will be disqualified fromadmission.
