(Correspondent Sunwei, Translator Wang Chendi) On the 20th of November, 2019, Korrin Ebira, director of English Language Institute, University of Utah(U of U), was invited to visit the College of Chinese Language and Culture(CCLC), Nankai University. Wang Lixin and Liu Songyan, deans of CCLC, met the distinguished guest in conference room, with head of the Admission Office for International Student and the project leader.
Wang Lixin expressed warm welcome to this visit of Korrin Ebira. He pointed out that both NKU and CCLC always attached great importance to the cooperation with the U of U. Also, more cooperation projects are expected to be presented based on the framework of friendly cooperation. He hoped that students who are learning in the U of U will be strictly required and receive care, so as to successfully complete their studies in the United States.
Korrin Ebira at first delivered heartfelt thanks for the reception from CCLC. She said that the CCLC is the first specialist college in NKU to cooperate with U of U. Thanks to the joint efforts, more than 40 international students of four batches specialized in International Business and Trade are studying at English Language Institute, U of U. She was delighted to see those international students from NKU have serious attitudes and solid foundation in learning, thus are highly praised by the faculty in the US.
The renewal ceremony of the project, Undergraduate Chinese Language Major Specialized in International Business and Trade (3+1) was held in the conference room. Accompanied by the head of the Admission Office for International Student, Korrin Ebira had a meeting with student representatives specialized in International Business and Trade, introduced the latest trends of the U of U and English Language Institute, listened to their learning progress at NKU, and in the end, gave advice on studying and living in the United States for students intending to study at the U of U next year.
Founded in 1850, the University of Utah is a well-known public comprehensive university in the mid-western part of the United States, with five Nobel Prize laureates produced here. The English Language Institute, University of Utah(U of U) provides specialized English language education and welcomes hundreds of international students from over 30 countries in the whole world every year. Since the operation of project, Undergraduate Chinese Language Major Specialized in International Business and Trade (3+1) from the September of 2015, which was jointly initiated by CCLC, NKU and English Language Institute, U of U, many international students, especially from South Korea, Italy, Japan, Brazi, are attracted to apply.
