A delegation from the Oriental language department of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences visited our school

 (Correspondent Zhaohua Wang, Dongqing Bai) On 8th November, delegation from the Oriental language department of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences visited our school. Song-yan Liu, vice Dean of College of Chinese Language and Culture, and Ning Zhang, deputy director of International Academic Exchange Apartment met with the guests at the meeting room. Qianye Yang of International exchange department and Zhaohua Wang of College of Chinese Language and Culture keep in company.

 On behalf of the school of Chinese Language and Culture, Dean Liu first welcomed the delegation from the Oriental language department of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences and highly confirmed the cooperation between the two sides in sending students in the past. Dean Liu said that since the cooperation began between the two sides, the students sent by ZUYD to Nankai are all excellent and of high-level. Nankai university will also fully support the cooperation with ZUYD in terms of student exchange program, so as to constantly promote the educational and cultural exchanges between China and Netherlands.

 Representative of Oriental Language department of ZUYD, Antonius Jacobus Maria Bocken, expressed gratitude for the College of Chinese Language and Culture, and also showed his respects to the colleagues that worked to encourage the cooperation between two universities. He proposed that although ZUYD had many-year experience of Chinese language education, ZUYD still had some shortcomings when it comes to pedagogic methods. What’s more, he also put forward suggestions on further promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in student exchange and teacher communication.

 Though the talks, the two sides had in-depth negotiations in terms of student exchange, teacher communication, internship practice and Chinese summer camp. After the meeting, two universities had reached consensus on further cooperation and exchanges.

 It is reported that ZUYD is located in Maastricht in the southeast of the Netherlands, and is one of the largest universities of applied science and technology in the Netherlands, with nearly 40,000 students at school currently.

 The Oriental language department of ZUYD is one of the only two departments in the Netherlands universities that launched Chinese undergraduate program. This department has around 50 undergraduates every year.
