(Translator: Wang Chendi) From September 2nd to 4th, the welcome meeting for 2019 oversea students of the College of Chinese Language and Culture of Nankai University was held successfully, following the registration of 2019 undergraduates on the occasion of 100th anniversary of the establishment of NKU. To promote the management of overseas students and the ever-increasing internationalization of NKU, CCLC and Office for International Academic Exchanges co-chaired the orientation and over 200 international students received warm receptions.
In the teaching building of CCLC, balitai Campus, the leaders of the CCLC, department teachers, and students volunteers attended the orientation. Preparatory meetings were held for many times to make sure the welcome meeting go smoothly. New students have signed in one after another since 9 a.m.. Four steps were needed to be done within the whole process, including checking in, paying the fee, registering and interviewing. Teachers and volunteers helped students sign in successfully and eliminated their confusion timely.
Every international students has signed in smoothly in two days and they've also picked up materials, joined in Wechat discussion groups, made the acquaintance of each other and met new friends. In order to better teach Chinese and launch other programs, CCLC has divided students into different classes based on the scores they get in interviews.
In the following week of entrance education, CCLC and OIAE have co-chaired the opening ceremony, orientation courses and a variety of activities for 2019 international students, keeping them informed of national and social conditions, the history and development of NKU, safety rules and school regulations. These activities would improve students' understanding of China and NKU, strengthen their adaptability, and lay a solid foundation for their well-rounded growth in NKU campus.
