(Correspondent Sun Wei Translator Li Yueqing) Robert Kuster, director of China project of Faculty of International Business and Communication of Zuyd University of Applied Science, visited College of Chinese Language and Culture on December 3rd. Wang Lixin, Dean of the College met with him, together with directors of Admission Office and Office for International Academic Exchanges.
Mr. Kuster studied Chinese in the 1980s at Chinese Teaching Center of Nankai University, the predecessor of the CCLC. He has been working on Chinese teaching and communication with Chinese educational institutions at universities in the Netherlands after returning home. At the meeting, he reviewed his study life at NKU from 1986 to 1987, and put forward suggestions on further promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
As one of the first foreign students who studied at NKU since the reform and opening up, Mr. Kuster has a deep affection for our university. He never forgets his alma mater and is friendly to China, contributing to communication between Dutch universities and NKU for many years.
Wang Lixin, on behalf of the CCLC, welcomed Mr. Kuster’s visit. He pointed out that Mr. Kuster is an outstanding foreign alumnus and has made a difference in exchanges and cooperation between NKU and many universities in the Netherlands over the years. The CCLC will continue to enhance its friendship with the Faculty of International Business and Communication of Zuyd University of Applied Science, and foster the internationalization of the two universities as well as the educational and cultural exchanges.
After the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and reached a number of consensus on student dispatch, teacher exchanges, practice and hosting summer camps of Chinese Learning .
Located in Maastricht, Zuyd University of Applied Science is one of the largest applied science and technology universities in the Netherlands with nearly 40,000 students. It has 21 faculties with various undergraduate and postgraduate majors, among which Oriental Language and Communication, International Business and Language, Business Management and European Studies are distinctive.
