(translator Li Yueqing) The international students of college of Chinese Language and Culture visited the Museum of Clay Figure Zhang(泥人张) headed by their tutors on November 2nd. The students appreciated every vivid work displayed in the museum, listened to the story of "Clay Figure Zhang", and enjoyed the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
The Clay Figure Zhang sculpture represents a popular Chinese folk art with a history of 180 years and boasts a high reputation across the globe. It serves as a window for foreign students to know Tianjin traditional culture and have a general understanding of Chinese traditional culture.
At around two o'clock in the afternoon, the students and tutors arrived at the museum located in the Ancient Culture Street and were received by the staff there warmly. The commentator explained the origin and development process of Clay Figure Zhang and introduced several works in detail. The students enjoyed there with interest and took pictures together with the exhibits.
Some students mentioned that they knew more about the fantasy of Chinese culture through this one-hour activity. They then toured the Ancient Culture Street with joy. The activity came to an end in the midst of pleasure in the afternoon.
