Liu Songyan, the Vice Dean of CCLC, Professor Massimo Palermo, director of University Department for Teaching and Research, University for Foreigners of Siena, and Carla Bagna, Director of the language Center and Rector’s Delegate for International Relations, were present at the meeting. Relevant personnel of the International Academic Exchange Office and Admission Office for International Students attended the signing ceremony as well.
Liu Songyan extended a warm welcome to Professor Massimo Palermo on behalf of Nankai University and CCLC. Liu Songyan noted that Nankai University and University for Foreigners of Siena have long maintained a friendly cooperative relationship in many fields. Liu said that CCLC has a strong faculty in the teaching of Chinese and believes that students from the University for Foreigners of Siena will succeed in Nankai University.
On behalf of University for Foreigners of Siena, Massimo Palermo thanked CCLC and paid tribute to colleagues who promoted cooperation between the two universities. He pointed out that University for Foreigners of Siena has many years of experience in teaching Italian as a foreign language and introducing Chinese culture to Italian students. He believes that this cooperation achieved success for the joint efforts of both sides. The signing of this agreement will provide a solid foundation for cooperation between the two universities in more areas in the future.
Carla Bagna said that the promotion of the collaboration project with CCLC, Nankai University had set up a platform for Italian students to gain an in-depth understanding of Chinese language and culture. At the same time, it is also an important step for the internationalization of University for Foreigners of Siena, which is of landmark significance.
The director of the Admission Office for International Students shared with all the guests the process of cooperation between CCLC and University for Foreigners of Siena, and looked forward to more Italian and Chinese students joining the program in the future and to become excellent talents to promote friendly exchanges between China and Italy.
It is known that the University for Foreigners of Siena is located in the middle of Tuscany, the birthplace of Italian traditional culture, and is one of Italy’s two most famous universities for Italian teaching and has many years of history in the teaching and communication of Italian language and culture.
