（Sun Wei, Xue Bing, Zhang Xinxin）The Opening Ceremony of Nankai University & Cheju Halla University 2017 Cultural Experience Winter Camp was successfully held in the multifunctional hall at College of Chinese Language and Culture (CCLC) on January 2, 2018. It is reported that this winter camp was hosted by CCLC, Nankai University under the sponsorship of Confucius Institute Headquarters of China. Together with 20 Korean students and Ms. Shen Yijing Dean of Confucius Institute of Cheju Halla University, presented at the ceremony were CCLC Dean Assistant Professor Liang Xiaoping, Head of CCLC Teaching Office Ms. Ren Xiangqing, Head of CCLC Admission Office for International Students Mr. Sun Wei and the winter camp teacher representative.
The ceremony began with a speech by Prof. Liang Xiaoping, who extended a warm welcome to the guests from Cheju Halla University and offered a a brief introduction of the CCLC, Nankai University. She introduced that NanKai was one of the earliest comprehensive university in China that opened up Chinese teaching courses to foreigners and enjoyed a teaching history of more than 60 years. As the exchanges between China and South Korea become increasingly frequent, she expressed her hope that all students of the winter camp should take this opportunity to learn Chinese, to experience Chinese culture, and to fall in love with Nankai, with Tianjin and with China.
Ms. Shen expressed her gratitude for the careful preparation and the considerate arrangements of the winter camp by CCLC, and all Korean students had experienced the grandness of Chinese culture as loon as they set feet on China. She also pointed out that students of this year’s winter camp were selected through rigorous competition, and she hoped that all of them could cherish their time studying at Nankai in order to improve their Chinese and deepen their understanding of Chinese culture.
The winter camp course teacher was also invited to deliver a speech to the students. She firstly introduced the related courses of the winter camp and then expressed her hope to embark upon a new learning journey together with all the students. After that, Mr. Sun Wei reminded students of the matters needing special attention during the winter camp and cherish the study opportunity.
After the opening ceremony, students and guests presented at the ceremony took a photo together, officially opening the curtain of the winter camp.
CCLC has always attached great importance to international exchanges in that CCLC would host diversified short-term exchange programs each summer and winter holiday and equip outstanding teachers and administrative staff to facilitate the study of different students, contributing to the internationalization of Nankai University and exchanges with foreign countries.
