(Correspondents Sun Wei, Yan Rui)On November 10th , College of Chinese Language and Culture held a communication meeting between the freshmen and the junior students from Undergraduate Chinese Language major oriented in International Business (3+1). The director of Admission Office for International Students, junior student representatives oriented in International Business who have enrolled in the year of 2015 and all the freshmen oriented in International Business took part in this activity.
At the beginning, the director made an introduction to all the attendees about the operation of Undergraduate Chinese Language major oriented in International Business(3+1). He also combined learning and life experiences of previous international students from the University of Utah and Nankai University to introduce the advantages, chances and challenges in studying in the two universities. The director hoped that all the freshmen could get good results in the study of their relative professional knowledge at the same time, make good use of the chances of overseas study to experience different cultures of China and America and become the high-quality talents who equipped with Chinese-English bilingual background and professional knowledge of economic and trade.
Then, the director emphasized the notices to the freshmen during their study in NKU and introduced the issues of application for U.S. visas as well as hoped them obey the rules of school for making a good preparation to enroll in UU.
Three excellent junior student representatives, Nick, Li Shuren and Piao Renhao, shared their one-year study experiences in America with the freshmen in Chinese, English and Korean. They won distinguished honors and showed positive and optimistic spirit of international students in NKU during the study in UU, which impressed American teachers and students deeply. Having made a full preparation, they not only shared their ways to learn languages and major subjects, but also their experiences about cultural and educational exchanges and life leisure combining audiovisual materials in the U.S.
In the final Q & A and interactive part, the freshmen made an enthusiastic exchange with the junior student representatives and teachers. The freshmen hoped that more similar activities could be held to increase the opportunities communicating with the senior of this major and make a full preparation for overseas study in UU as well as accomplishing their undergraduate study in NKU.
It is learned that Undergraduate Chinese Language major oriented in International Business (3+1) is the fruit of the cooperation between CCLC of NKU and ELI of UU, which aims to cultivate talents equipped with Chinese-English bilingual background and professional knowledge of economic and trade. From September 2015, over 40 foreign students from Korea, Japan and Italy have been admitted.
