Wang Lixin the Dean of CCLC Visited the University of Utah in the United States

CCLC -- Wang Lixin, the dean of CCLC visited the University of Utah, USA on invitation. Dean Wang attended the Autumn Semester’s Opening Ceremony of English Language Institute. Besides, Dean Wang also conducted a series of investigation and surveys on the enrollment of overseas students and the educational management. On September 16th, the vice-principal of the University of Utah and executive of International Exchange 麦克哈德曼 had a meeting with Dean Wang and his team, together with the assistant executive of International Exchange 赛宾克拉, the leader of Confucius Institute and the leader of English Language Institute.

麦克哈德曼 warmly welcomed the visiting team from CCLC, Nankai University led by Dean Wang. He said that it was very glad to have a meeting again, and that CCLC was the first unit of Nankai University which carried out the exchange program with the University of Utah. This year, there are 16 overseas students from CCLC, Nankai University who come to the University of Utah for study. 麦克哈德also expressed his appreciation to the extraordinary work that CCLC has done.  

Dean Wang expressed his gratitude to the vice-principal 麦克哈德曼’s reception. He pointed out that CCLC, Nankai University thought highly of the cooperation with the University of Utah. He believed that on the basis of the International Business and Trade Program (“3+1” Program), there would be more cooperative programs co-hosted by the University of Utah and Nankai University in the future. In addition, Dean Wang hoped that the vice-principal 麦克哈德曼 will continue to support the Confucius Institute in the University of Utah as well as the communication and cooperation between the ELI and CCLC, NKU.

Both sides also had a discussion on the details of cooperation and communication. After the talk, accompanied by college leaders, Dean Wang and his team paid a visit to the library, the English Language Institute (ELI), the College of Humanities and the Confucius Institute in the University of Utah.

During the visit of Utah, besides attending the Autumn Semester’s Opening Ceremony of English Language Institute, Dean Wang and his team conducted a series of profound investigation and surveys on the enrollment of overseas students and the educational management in the University of Utah in a variety of ways such as the panel discussion with teachers and students, classroom observation and on-the-spot visit, to draw successful experiences and advanced measures, for the purpose of bringing forth new ideas in the work and improving the quality of service.

The University of Utah, founded in 1850, is a famous comprehensive public university in America, as well as a well-known university in Utah and mid-west America. There have been five Nobel Prize winners cultivated in the University of Utah. The English Language Institute of the University of Utah is a professional college engaged in English language education. Every year, hundreds of overseas students from more than 30 countries and regions come here to study English.
