President (Wang Li Xin) Wang’s Speech on the Graduation Ceremony for Language Students in the College of Chinese Language and Culture, Nankai University

Dear students and teachers:

After a hard learning semester, in this hot June, all students’ school life will be end soon. After saw the attentively prepared shows of each class, one after another, I am very proud for the students in our school. First of all, I want to represent our college, congratulate all students who finished their school regretless, at the same time, I also want to say “thank you for all of your hard working” to all teachers in our school.

We are already abundantly feeling the happiness from students who study in Nankai University, at China. In the progress, we can see teachers spent a lot of time on students’ learning, and our students’ own efforts lead them to a even greater success.

Chinese is the language that used by 1/4 of total population in the world. Also, the 5000 years of China’s history left many great records and civilization achievements in humanity’s track. Especially, nowadays, China is becoming a very fast development country. Therefore, the student who knows Chinese well, and the student who knows Chinese culture and cognition method well, is definitely going to be successful in the future’s career. When seeing a lot of students had a great achievement, I believe all teachers sincerely feel happy for them.

In that case, after more than three months, all the students came from different nationality studied together, and made a lot of Chinese friends, especially in Nankai University, a school with very high reputation in China. All of us will share a same feeling, as humanity, we are the same, the youngster’s mind are connected; What this world needs more is understanding each other and love each other, and the peacefully development for the future. Therefore, before everybody goes, we, as teachers hope you all continuously learning Chinese, continuously pay the attention to China, and keep making friends with Chinese people.

I wish all students will be success in the future development, and wish all students will stay peace and happiness! Thank you all!

南开大学汉语言文化学院王立新院长在语言进修生结业典礼上的讲话

各位同学、各位老师：

经过一个学期的学习，在这个炎热的六月，同学的学习生活即将结束。刚刚看过了各班同学们制作的学习和生活的画面，我为同学们感到骄傲和自豪。首先，我代表学院向顺利完成本学期学习任务的所有的同学表示祝贺，同时，也向辛勤教导同学们的老师们道一声：“辛苦。”

我们已充分地感受到了同学们在中国、在南开大学学习的快乐，从同学们的进步当中，可以看出老师们为同学们的学习下了很大的功夫，而我们同学们自身的努力更是起到了巨大的作用。

汉语是当今世界四分之一人口所使用的语言，同时，中国五千年的历史文化当中，也留下了大量的载入史册的人类文明的成果和典籍。特别是在今天的世界上，中国正在快速地发展，因此，哪一个同学把汉语学好，哪一个同学更深刻地理解了中国的文化和中国人的思维方式，就将在未来的事业发展当中立于不败之地。看到同学们学习取得那么大的成果，所有的老师都为你们感到高兴。

三个多月以来，不同国籍的同学们在一起学习，同学们，也交到了很多中国朋友，特别是在南开大学这样一所在中国很有影响力的大学里，你们与中国的同学们结下了深厚的友谊。大家会有一个共同的感受，我们人类都是一样的，年轻人的心是相通的；这个世界需要的是彼此的理解和彼此的爱，是未来的和平和发展。因此，在大家临行之际，老师们希望同学们继续地学习汉语，继续地关注中国，继续地跟中国的人民做朋友。

祝愿同学们在未来的发展中都能取得成功，祝愿同学们在未来的日子里生活幸福、平安！谢谢大家！
